Viva LAS VEGAS!!!

In 29 days I will be sitting pool side with a drink in hand, relaxing in the lovely Las Vegas! I've made it NO secret that Las Vegas is *maybe* my MOST favorite favorite vacation spot (maybe, even more so than Hawaii!) After working my booty off ALL summer I thought that I deserved a trip away from it all for a few days. A great email came a few days ago showing great airfare and hotel rates. Toni and I have been talking about doing some kind of vacation for awhile, so we knew right before the school year is to start would be the perfect time to talk a little trip. I'll be going with Toni and her fiance, Erik! We are staying at Planet Hollywood (a great hotel and the BEST location on the strip!) We leave on Sunday, August 28 and we'll return on Wednesday, August 31! I am ready to do Vegas all over again- differently this time. This trip is not an anniversary, romantic get away in a lush room at Mandalay Bay. . . this is me and my BFF and Erik doing Vegas the way it's meant to be done. Sleep, eat, drink, gamble and partyyyyyyyyyy! I cannot WAIT! 2011 is turning out to be the most AMAZING summer I could have ever dreamed of!

A "Favorite Things" Party

You are invited to a "Favorite Things" exchange party! This is how we do it . . .

Well, I said yesterday I was going to pick something on my bucket list and then make a plan on how I can accomplish it! 

So here it is . . .  

*Go to the Kentucky Derby:

Attend the Barnstable-Brown Ball, watch the race from the Turf Terrace, bet on my favorite horse, have a Mint Julep (the traditional beverage of the Kentucky Derby. It's an iced drink consisting of bourbon, mint and sugar,) wear a great hat at the race and stay at the famous Galt House Hotel.

Now if I can come with with $2,795 plus airfare I can do this! Here's the package. . . Kentucky Derby Trip. Doesn't it sounds AMAZING!?!

Bucket List

I've decided that I really need to get going on my bucket list. Honestly, I've had the opportunity to cross a few things off in the past few months and sadly I just haven't taken the initiative to do so. I've decided that I'm going to keep expanding my list and try adding a few things that are a little easier to accomplish, so I won't get so discouraged that everything is so hard to do. I'm going to make a plan on how I can succeed on the bigger ones, too! Stay tuned... 

I've got a lemon.

I have the cutest, sweetest, most loveable, adorable,

cuddliest dog in the world...BUT...he is an absolute lemon.

-He has a very sensitive stomach.

So I have to buy expensive dog food and he can't eat "wet food." I have to be picky on the types of treats he gets and no people food. If he gets off track with his food just the slightest bit it's diarrhea for dayssssss. Oh joy! 

-I have numerous vet bills (ER vet included) for his digestion issues. 


- He ate an SOS pad and got all clogged up . . . another vet bill.


-He gets hot spots. 


-He escaped from me and got hit by a car. That was an adventure.

-He has really bad allergies.

-He's had a little hernia since I got him because his umbilical cord was removed prematurely. 

And now... he keeps getting staph infections and needs to be on antibiotics to help that.

Upgraded

 This is my "old" tv. I LOVE this television. It fit in the hole in the wall SO perfectly! Unfortunately, the lamp/bulb finally burned out and I thought that a new one was probably a better idea rather than spending the money to replace the blub now and probably again a year down the road. Last week I set off to Best Buy for a new one.

So here it is... 

iPhone pictures SUCK!

It's definitely a lot smaller than the old one. I went from a 50" down to a 46" and it sure does feel a lot smaller- maybe I am just not quite use to it yet! I wanted to replace it with another 50" but . . . apparently 50" televisions only come in plasma and I don't have a truck to transport a plasma (they are gas powered, so they can't be laid down to transport) so I had to go with an LCD. I will say that the picture is a whole lot better than the other one and it doesn't show any glare from the windows!
